We had just moved to California and had no idea what a smog check was. We went to the DMV to change our driver’s licenses and register our cars, but we were surprised we needed this additional certification. The woman at the DMV was very understanding and gave us a list of places nearby where we could have our cars tested. We decided to go to the closest Smog Check Walnut Creek so we could hopefully finish all the paperwork in one day. Since we had never been through the process before we were really fascinated with the whole thing. My wife’s car passed with no problems. My car is a little bit older and still passed but they recommended some repairs. They also told us how often and when we would need to have testing done again in the future. Overall it was not the hassle I had feared it would be.
